The Belarus-based Currency.com has become the first cryptocurrency exchange in the world to allow cryptocurrency donations in support of coronavirus response efforts, the company told dev.by.

Currency.com has launched a new initiative aiming to help frontline healthcare workers in Belarusian hospitals fight COVID-19. The company has already transferred $100,000 of its own funds to the local Ministry of Health and enabled the users of its platform to donate cryptocurrencies to the agency.

Users can donate both crypto and traditional currencies by acquiring «karma» tokens or by emailing the platform’s support team.

All the transactions that are made and the total amount of money raised will be tracked in real time on a dedicated page coming to the Currency.com website.

Currency.com will be sending 100 percent of the sale of the tokens to a charity account that the Ministry has opened for such donations.

This has made Belarus the first country in the world to accept crypto donations for combating the new disease.
