Two Belarusian studios among the Top 20 most popular game developers globally
According to a recent report released in 2019 by Sensor Tower, the mobile apps & games market is in a very healthy state. The number of worldwide downloads for the App Store and Google Play grew 9,1% year-over-year to $114.9 billion. The figures for these two app stores were up 2,7% and 11,7%, respectively.
PUBG Mobile was the most popular game in 2019, with 285 million installs.
Sand Balls from Belarusian studio SayGames reached the Top 10 most downloaded titles, taking 9th place on the list. In Q4, the game managed to make it onto the Top 3 by number of installs.
Say Games also became the 6th most popular publisher worldwide. Another Belarusian game developer, Playgendary, scored 11th place.
Global spending on mobile games for Android and iOS hit a new high in 2019. The industry generated about $61.7 billion last year, up 13% from 2018. Google Play users spent $24.7 billion (up 15% YoY) on games, while Apple’s users spent $37 billion (up 11,4% YoY).
